KGSA Guild Show 2011

The 2011 Knifemaker Guild of Southern Africa (KGSA) was once again the highlight of the knife calendar. As is the case every 2 year, it was time again for the competition for non-guild members.

The basic profile of the knife is prescribed, but the rest of the knife, e.g.. the handle, embellishments, and finish is up to the individual craftsman.

The design of this year’s knife was a Bird & Trout knife

The competition was again organised by Gawie and Thinus on behalf of the Knife-makers Guild of South Africa. A new record of 54 knives entries were judged by Bertie and Melinda Rietveld.

It was a great honour for me to be awarded the first prize at this great event.
